Hailing from a small, sleepy village right by "Duck Lake", Lis' life was turned upside down in a most tragic manner when his home town was attacked and almost completely destroyed by a mysterious monster known as Drix, the Duragh. Lis was forced to flee and seek shelter with druids of the Aramaic order, where he started to study the druidic arts, but it wasn't long until the monster from his past returned again to haunt him.

Only later, after coming to the city of Jahanspoint to hopefully find his luck there, did Lis learn the truth behind his tragic past: The monster, Drix, normally immortal and invulnerable, had received a prophecy that this small child from Duck Lake, Lis, would eventually be his demise, and had thus set out to destroy Lis as quickly as possible. Drix would not stop hunting him until either one of the two would be killed. To make matters worse, it turned out that Drix was doing all this at the behest of the druidic High Priest, an angelic stag with holy powers and the leader of all druids, in order to preserve the future of druidkind. Only after a long and dangerous journey to the heart of the druidic lands in Aramai did Lis manage to confront the High Priest and convince him to put an end to his undead druid monster's hunt. In Drix's stead, the High Priest appointed Lis as his new champion to save druidkind from the dark prophecy the High Priest had received - a big responsibility for such a small an inexperienced druid.
