Piet the Soccer Ball

Piet the Soccer Ball

I've lost count of how many hours I poured into this over the last week but IT WAS WORTH IT!! Just look at him! I feel like I might just call it a year and stop drawing for the rest of 2025, it probably won't get any crazier than this xDxD Needless to say, this was a very impactful piece to work on for me personally, the sheer scope of it and the new techniques I tried, and all in all I'm incredibly happy with it and I feel like I've really made something rare and important happen with this one. Apologies to those of you who don't like photorealism as much! Obviously not many of my pieces will ever be this elaborately rendered, don't worry xD

So as you've heard, recently I've been developing Piet Natzaus, who is Arte's younger brother and who has an inexplicable superhuman power just like his older sibling. While Arte is super strong, Piet has a body that's completely indestructible, flexible like rubber, and even slightly stretchy! It's a perfect fit for Piet, who loves getting into all sorts of freaky trouble and come out unharmed, like pretending to be a human soccer ball and getting kicked across the park by Arte's super-strong legs xD

Their relationship has been beautifully illustrated by my buddy Wucro in the story Super Brothers, which he wrote for me as a commission (see Writing section). I'm incredibly thankful for his work and it makes for a great double whopper together with this painting.

Thank you for looking at my boy!! I love him so much <3
